This is reserved for existing nonprofit and yoga organizations that can be found in a particular municipality, province or territory. We also reserve key volunteer positions that serve Regional interests and Advisory concerns. Regional advisors are voted in at the Annual General Meeting, and under the guidance and stewardship of both the Board and Executive branches. Why become a Regional Representative? You provide key outreach for:

regional promotion

As Regional Representative, you are the local contact for requests and concerns. You carry these interests forward, and may be required to attend events as a YSAC volunteer. You are also invited to make proposals for hosting events, bringing National resources locally, and making an application for direct funding.

funding triage

As Regional Representative, you typically get to forward or screen funding proposals and determine if

  • the proposals are of scientific and meet the organization purposes for board review
  • the number of proposals assessed are conducive to effective management
  • Identify, at an early stage, those proposals that are unlikely to be awarded funding. This is considered beneficial for unsuccessful applicants as it enables them to take account of external peer reviewer comments at an earlier stage.

networking

As Regional Representative, you provide the critical link to local community building. Nonprofits are hard work, and it’s easy to get insular and locked in an echo chamber or worse, completely stagnant and without inspiration. Local networking is critical for the health and well being of seed programs that require nurturing and attention.

We are currently accepting applications for those who want to be regional representatives. If you are doing the work dedicated to furthering the access and sustainability of yoga in your community apply here and get involved.
